finished,,

I would like to quote Bruce Mau again today, "18. Stay up late.
Strange things happen when you’ve gone too far, been up too long, worked too hard, and you're separated from the rest of the world."

Last night I stayed up until 5am completing my assignment. Although most of my time was spent redoing most of my work because it was on a smaller format than would have been acceptable, I feel like I got a good work accomplished. I'm pretty happy with what i've done, putting it on foam was a bit of a challenge and there is a small imperfection in the middle which i really hope will be overlooked...
Also, I'm pretty happy with the quality I've gotten from ordering from Costco. It only took an hour(as opposed to a day at school? I dunno I was kinda convinced that students would be printing it and I really needed the assurance of having it done asap...) and it only cost me 3.50. Hopefully it's got a relatively good quality compared to the rest of everyone else's work!

anyways. here's what i'm sure all of you will see tomorrow!(ignore the flare from the camera)

Mollie Kellogg

I absolutely love this woman's work. Years ago I knew her as a regular customer at a greek restaurant I worked at (Dino's Gyros). It wasn't until I found a flyer for an art show of hers in the office did I realize she was a painter. I believe she went through a period in her life where she got cancer and has this whole epiphany about her work and just started painting. I've spent time trying to recreate her techniques which is actually quite difficult but she pulls it off amazingly. I'm really inspired by her use of color and metallics in her work. Take a look at her page she has a lot to look at!
